ADFC Limited presents the Auckland Drum Fest

Auckland Drum Festival 2017 Press Release

Drum roll please- Auckland to host first of its kind Drum Festival February 18th 2017

ADFC Limited presents the Auckland Drum Fest powered by The Rockshop.

ADFC Limited are proud to announce the one day festival that will be a celebration of local and international drumming aimed at anyone with an interest in drumming, or the craft of music.

The unique event is the brainchild of owner and chief drum maker, Jody Samplonius of Samplonius Drums, Waiuku, who says the idea was sparked after a conversation with current Cirque Du Soleil Drummer, Andre Boyd.

Focusing on all things percussion, this speciality festival will enlighten and delight young and old

Featuring interactive workshops, including drum clinics run by top international drummers, food, live music and much more, this will be the first drum festival of its kind, targeted for all ages and tastes, with plenty of educational interaction.

“While we are most appealing to drummers, we plan to have something to appeal to anyone with an interest in the craft of music and drumming” says event co-director, Michael Piane.

From a hobby that has turned into a growing business, Jody is gaining notoriety for making quality custom stave drums using only New Zealand reclaimed or sustainably-sourced timber.

“Around this time last year, I met Andre who was over here touring with Cirque Du Soleil. I custom made a drum for him and he approached me with the idea of running a drum clinic’’, says Jody.
