2016 was a massive year for Brighton-based duo The Prototypes. It saw the release of their highly successful album City Of God; their track ‘Rockets Guns Blazing’ made a Beatport no.1; they launched their own imprint titled Get Hype Records, and the release of their epic music video for ‘Transmissions’ gave onlookers some next-level visual stimulation. As well as being regular guests on BBC Radio One and One Xtra, the duo have been splitting eardrums at some of the worlds largest festivals including Tomorrowland, EDC Las Vegas and Let It Roll to name a few.
The Prototypes list of artists they've remixed reads like a who’s who of the biggest names in the dance world: Netsky, Jauz, Bingo Players, AlunaGeorge, Zomboy, and even Ed Sheeran. The duos cutting edge sound also recently brought them four nominations at the 2016 Drum & Bass Arena Awards and with the release of their brand new single ‘Electric’, bass lovers from all over the globe are gearing up for their highly anticipated world tour.

Launch Party Mix
Brighton-based duo The Prototypes are one of the most hotly-tipped in bass music and show no signs of slowing down with the recent launch of their own imprint, Get Hype Records. Hot on the heels of the success of their City OF Gold album last year, 2016 brought a no.1 Beatport chart-topper ‘Rockets Guns Blazing’, a high budget music video for ‘Transmission’ in conjunction with the Desperados Bass Drop Studios and remixes for Netsky and Jauz.
Renowned for their outstanding live shows and bleeding edge drum & bass rollers and with previous releases on Friction’s Shogun Audio and Futurebound’s Viper Recordings, the duo’s new record label Get Hype Records perfectly illustrates their polished yet energetic, electro-fused sound.
The Prototypes are a regular staple on BBC Radio One and One Xtra with their tracks continuously showing up in the playlists of Friction, Huw Stephens, and MistaJam. The summer of 2016 saw them play at the biggest festivals across Europe and the US such as Tomorrowland, EDC Las Vegas and Let It Roll.
With four nominations at the 2016 Drum & Bass Arena Awards it’s not hard to see why the future has never been brighter for one of the most exciting production outfits in recent years.
