Bluff Oyster & Food Festival sold out

MEDIA RELEASE
28 MARCH 2017

SOLD OUT SIGNS GO UP

The sold out signs are up for the 2017 Bluff Oyster & Food Festival on Saturday 20 May!

All tickets are now sold and accordingly there will be no gate sales on the day of the event.

While attendance is always close to capacity, this year sales have been unprecedented, with the full house sign up almost two full months before the gates open on Saturday 20 May.

Tirect Direct sold the last of their tickets recently and now there are none remaining at outlets in Bluff, Cromwell or Invercargill.

Festival Chairman, John Edminstin, said today, “it is sad that some will miss out but word has been out for some time that tickets were on the verge of selling out. We have the numbers to make it comfortable for the crowd that will attend this year and a great Festival will result. Next year’s Festival is due to take place on Saturday 26 May 2018 and tickets will be on sale soon after this year’s event.”

Those attending the event at the Oyster Festival site in Lee Street, Bluff will enjoy the succulent Bluff Oyster along with other superb southern seafood plus other tasty food offerings and fine beverages. There will be a full afternoon of musical entertainment on the main stage throughout the day and the traditional Oyster Opening and Eating races.

The entertainment gets underway at 11am after the gates open at 10.30am with the traditional Piping In Of The Oyster, the Ode and official welcome.
