NZ COMEDY LEGENDS STEP UP FOR THE CLASSIC

Local stars replace injured International Comedy Festival guest act

Irish ‘hip hop’ comedian, Abandoman has been crippled by a fractured knee following an accident at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, curtailing his debut at the NZ International Comedy Festival on April 29th.

But the home of live comedy will not be left stranded in its 20th Anniversary year as local comedy legends that helped launch the venue in 1997 step up to fill the gap in the programme.

Jeremy Corbett, Paul Ego, Dai Henwood, Te Radar, Andrew Clay, Brendhan Lovegrove and Justine Smith have all made themselves available for the crucial opening week of the festival. They will ‘rotate the strike’ with 3 different acts appearing each night at 8:30pm from Sat April 29th to Sat May 6th.

“It is very rare to have these comedians together in one show these days as they are all very busy elsewhere. It will be a real treat to see Te Radar back on our stage too. But then this is what family are for. Stepping in at a time of need” says an appreciative director of The Classic, Scott Blanks
