Three Announces the Teams And Premiere Date for Season Six of the Block NZ

Block fans can rejoice as the top-rating series The Block NZ gears up for its sixth season, premiering Sunday 25 June at 7pm on Three.

This season the teams need to step up their game like never before as they renovate the biggest houses in The Block NZ history on Auckland’s North Shore.

2017’s contestants are twins from Auckland – “Julia” (Julia Heaney, 28) and “Ali” (Alexandra Heaney, 28), brothers from Christchurch – “Ling” (Levi Inglis, 22) and “Zing” (Zachary Inglis, 24), friends from Palmerston North – “Stace” (Stacey Cottrill, 40) and “Yanita” (Yanita McLeay, 29), and brothers-in-law from Hamilton – “Andy” (Andrew Murdie, 38) and “Nate” (Nathan Ross, 33).

The teams have just 12 weeks to complete their three-storey family homes. Each has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a double garage. But the most stunning feature of these houses is undoubtedly the roof terrace which boasts spectacular views of the city, harbour and Rangitoto Island. This year the footprint of the houses is almost identical, so the teams will need to really push the boundaries and showcase their design skills like never before if they want to earn the highest price on auction day.

“It's a great site this year...great big site. It's huge and it's quite stunning,” says Host Mark Richardson.

“The houses are essentially blank canvases, so there are no ornate details or period features to rely on for visual wow factor,” says Challenge Host Shelley Ferguson. “The teams will have to nail good design, clever use of space and luxe styling. And for those that watch for the entertainment factor, I think we have some of the best banter ever!”
