Declare your love” for a painting at Raumati exhibition

Declare your love” for a painting at Raumati exhibition and it could be yours

Wellington Rain

Following recent exhibitions in Wellington, local artist Tania Dally has her latest work on display at her Raumati Beach studio gallery on the weekend of 24, 25 June.

Dally is keen to encourage Kapiti Coast locals to hang one of her paintings in their home. “All paintings on display over the weekend need a home to go to, so come and have a look - and make me an offer,” says Dally.

She also has a unique incentive to encourage locals along, because if any of the paintings on display take your fancy you can enter a draw to win it. “Every visitor on the weekend who ‘declares their love’ for one of the paintings, goes into a draw to win that painting, regardless of its price tag,” says Dally.

Inspired by landscapes around Kapiti and the greater Wellington region, Dally’s large abstract paintings seek to capture the unique, and often fleeting, colour and light inherent in these scenes. The paintings are typically highly textured, often bordering on three dimensional.

“To me it is not the shapes in the landscapes that are important, but the colours and textures. My paintings are made to be touched as well as seen!” says Dally.

Dally’s work has sold well at recent exhibitions in Wellington at the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts and the New Zealand Art Show held over Queen’s Birthday Weekend and can be viewed at taniadallyart.co.nz andfacebook.com/taniadallyart.
