Yellow jackets up for grabs at Eden Park golf tournament

Media Release

Yellow jackets up for grabs at Eden Park golf tournament

Unique yellow jackets await the overall team and individual winners of the inaugural ASB G9 golf tournament at Eden Park early next month, and there are still limited places available for the event.

The yellow jackets will be one of many prizes on offer when the iconic stadium is turned into a golf course for the first time and more than 2500 keen golfers tee off onto the hallowed turf fromNovember 1. Tournament winners will also receive Eden Park memberships for 2018 as part of the prize.

Grant Fox will be among the well-known Kiwis who will tee off on the first morning of the event, joining hundreds of other newcomers and seasoned campaigners keen to take advantage of the first ever opportunity to hit out at Eden Park.

The yellow Barkers jacket, donated by tournament sponsor ASB, is inspired by the legendary green jacket bestowed on all winners of the US Masters golf tournament at Augusta, Georgia.

“The Masters green jacket is one of the most recognised prizes in global sport so we’re delighted to have been able to adapt that tradition for this event,” Eden Park GM Commercial Nick Sautner says.

Sautner says sponsors have been very generous and there are hole-in-one prizes up for grabs at every hole.

“Each of the nine holes is easily reachable in one stroke so we’re expecting the hole-in-one prizes to be won and everyone to be in with a chance,” he says.
