Wellington Polish Film Festival Announces Festival Patron and Polish Filmmakers to NZ

The Wellington Polish Film Festival (WPFF) is back for its second edition next week at the Roxy Cinema in Miramar, Wellington and is pleased to announce its Honorary Patron Mr Jacek Bromski, Chairman of the Association of Polish Filmmakers in Poland.
Festival Director, Wanda Lepionka, says it’s a great pleasure to welcome Mr Bromski and the Polish Filmmakers Association as Patron and Principal Partner for the 2017 Festival.
“Jacek Bromski’s prolific work as a filmmaker and respected leader within the Polish film industry, cements the Wellington Polish Film Festival as a festival which will be around for a long time yet”.
Mr Bromski said he’s very excited being asked to be a Patron for a New Zealand based Polish film festival.
“The Wellington Polish Film Festival has proved from its inaugural festival last year that Polish film has an audience in New Zealand.
“Polish cinema has a proud history and is a greatly artistic institution. I’m looking forward to being involved with the Wellington Polish Film Festival that wants to screen the best of Polish contemporary cinema in New Zealand. It will also be a great opportunity to bring Polish filmmakers to New Zealand to create opportunities to have dialogue between the two talented filmmaking nations.”
WPFF 2017 will present another year of recently released, contemporary, award winning and seldom-seen work from renowned and emerging Polish filmmakers including Agnieszka Holland's shortlisted Oscar contender 'Spoor' for Opening Night. The festival will also be hosting Polish filmmakers who will represent their films with Q + A’s and a ‘Polish Industry Day’ event for NZ filmmakers https://www.facebook.com/wpffnz/ .
This year the Festival will honour Polish film master Andrzej Wajda, who died at the age of 91 in 2016, and who left a great filmmaking legacy in Poland and in the filmmaking world.
