Lest We Forget The Other: Chinese & Indian Experience in WW1

Please find details below for this Friday evening’s official launch of this combined exhibition between the Indian and Chinese communities.

Lest We Forget The Other – Chinese and Indian Experience in WW1

A new temporary exhibition highlighting the service of Chinese and Indian New Zealanders in the First World War is opening on Friday evening at The Great War Exhibition from 5.30pm. The exhibition is open to the public from Saturday November 25th through until March 25th 2018.

The roles played by Chinese and Indian New Zealanders in the Great War are not only stories of individuals and their military service, but stories of marginalised communities contributing to the war effort, despite sometimes intense and open racism.

Lest We Forget – The Other tells these stories, which are as diverse as the soldiers themselves.
