What you need to know for the Whitianga Summer Concert

A great day of entertainment is promised this weekend for those attending the Whitianga Waterways Summer Concert with local artists "White Chapel Jak" and international artists "Fairground Saints" starting off the day. Followed by rock legends, "Colin Hay of Men at Work Fame", "Alanis Morissette" and "The Orchestra starring former members of Electric Light Orchestra (ELO)".

To ensure your day starts off well, please read the following information carefully as it's all important.

The concert will go ahead rain or shine so please remember to take with you everything you will need for the show as once you are in there are no pass-outs (once you leave the concert you will not be allowed back in).

Whatever you do, don't forget your tickets. There will be no replacement tickets available. So if you bought “print at home e-tickets” make sure you've printed them out and have them ready when you approach the entry gates as they need to be scanned to allow quicker and easier entry.

For those with an express pass there are designated express pass lanes. Please present your express pass with your general admission ticket for scanning.

Express pass holders will be able to enter the venue from 10am and general admission gates will be open from 11am. The concert ends at 6:30pm.

The event is sold out so there are no ticket sales at the gate. The box office is at the front gate and will be open from 9am. Children age 14 and under are free, and don’t require a ticket.

Remember, strictly no alcohol to be brought into the venue. A wide selection of Gibbston Valley Wines including Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and their award-winning Pinot Noir will be sold at the venue along with beer and non-alcoholic beverages. Free refill water will also be available.

You may bring your own picnic and sealed non-alcoholic drinks. A variety of local food vendors will be on site. Please note: the management reserves the rights to search bags and coolers on entry and prohibited items will be confiscated.

Free car parking is available from 8:30am however a gold coin donation to a local community group organising the parking would be much appreciated.

Due to the further development and expansion of the Whitianga Waterways the car parking has moved from last year to a new location which will be sign posted and managed on the day. There is a 30-minute walk from the car park to the concert site therefore it is advised all concert goers wear comfortable footwear, bring hats, sunscreen, and water.

Greenstone Entertainment supplies disabled parking which can be accessed via South Highway. This car park is located adjacent to the disability gate. Disabled toilets are also clearly sign posted.

Please follow signage and directions on the day.

In summary, what to bring with you:

• Your Concert ticket (e-ticket or hard ticket)
