HHINZ And Smokefree Partner to Run Hip Hop Workshops

HHINZ And Smokefree Partner to Run World Class Free Community Hip Hop Workshops Across New Zealand

Hip Hop International New Zealand has partnered for the second year with Smokefree to launch its “Keep up with the crew” campaign, running free beginner hip hop workshops across New Zealand with positive messages, dance community Smokefree ambassadors and world class talent.

The campaign exists to inspire young people to be Smokefree and to inspire their communities to lead smokefree healthy lives. Some of the key messages of the campaign that are delivered via social media, ambassadors, events and from choreographers is that dance has always been a part of our culture, smoking hasn’t and don’t make smoking a part of your crew. Aotearoa has a goal to be smokefree by 2025 and it’s up to us to make that a reality.

Hip Hop International New Zealand and all of their events are proudly smokefree. Over the next two months HHINZ will run regional qualifying competitions across New Zealand. The finalists from the regions will come to battle it out at the national finals for their place to compete in Phoenix Arizona in August at the World Hip Hop Championships up against 50 countries and 3,500 dancers from all corners of the globe.

The Hip Hop International National Championships competition includes 7 events over 5 days. Last year over 50 crews entered and over 1,000 dancers went head to head, all vying for an opportunity to represent their country on the world stage, hoping to win another gold medal.
