Harcourt Park In Upper Hutt is the location for three Lord of The Rings film locations and is still attracting tourists eighteen years on.
Next Saturday 10 February Harcourt Park takes on another mood-“Lord of the Songs “ when the well established soundstage hosts the annual free City Of Song Concert . A CD “Homegrown in Upper Hutt ‘ was released in 1999 and included the well known song “Nature “ was penned in Upper Hutt by Wayne Mason when with the Fourmyula group. The CD raised over $10,000 for Child Cancer.
Wayne will be performing as will Peter Hall from Trixx and The Bitter End who is flying in from Australia.
Carl Evensen ex Fourmyula and now Itchycoo Park along with Ray Ahipene Mercer ( Dedikation and now Reckless Brothers ) will add to the list of music icons on stage .
The finale will be Steve Brattle’s 9 piece Hitchcock Railway playing a session of Joe Cocker music .
The concert runs from 3 –10 pm with entry donations going towards suicide prevention
