Bogan Yoga: The workout for those seeking Nirvana

Bogan Yoga: The workout for those seeking Nirvana.

Bogan Yoga is back and is going to rock the capital into shape. Ditching yoga pants in favour of Adidas three stripes and replacing world music with rock music, this trend is sure to raise some eyebrows and probably raise a few devil horn hand signs in the process.

Originally coming to Wellington as part of the NZ International Comedy Festival 2015, the girls are back with an update to their fitness workout. What will we expect from this trend? “It’s about being true to you and your roots” says lead Instructor, Jackie Daniels. “I’m bit of a bogan and I like yoga, so what? Unlike other studios this isn’t a place where we judge you for that. No one will judge you if your tramp stamp is showing or if you turn up in an Evanescence t-shirt. You can bring the girls along with you to a class and all sing along together. It’s about honoring and connecting with the inner rock star inside all of us.”

The team at Bogan Yoga will guide classes of all levels through moves such as ‘Downward Facing Doggie’ and ‘Handle the Jandle’ at four exclusive sessions at the Scruffy Bunny Improv Theatre this coming March, during the New Zealand International Fringe Festival.
