Allen and Horne join Aces squad

Finn Allen and Ben Horne have joined the Auckland Aces squad for tomorrow’s Ford Trophy match against the Otago Volts at Eden Park Outer Oval.

The pair join the Aces with Mark Chapman on duty with the BLACKCAPS for the remainder of the T20 tri-series.

A win tomorrow will go a long way to securing second spot for the Aucklanders on the Ford Trophy table, Captain Craig Cachopa saying the side are focused and ready for Otago.

“The boys want to put in a good performance for the home fans. We’ve had a solid Ford Trophy campaign so far and tomorrow is about making sure we give ourselves the best chance in the next phase,” says Cachopa.

Coach Mark O’Donnell is happy to be back home with a settled squad for the Aces final Ford Trophy round robin match.

“It’s great to see Mark [Chapman] recognised at the highest level, we’re all very happy for him. Finn and Ben join the squad and will do a job for us tomorrow if required,” says O’Donnell.

The Aces take on the Volts tomorrow at Eden Park Outer Oval, first ball 11am.
