Lines (Eliana Gray and Morgan Smilie) continue to surprise
with their eclectic approach to pop music. March 26th marks
the release of the third single ‘Problem Drinking’ from
their impending debut album ‘Burn Cycle’.
A departure from the darker sounds of last year's ‘Letters Ep’; piano trills, horn blasts and insistent bass punctuate the sample heavy breakbeats.
A disarming mix of jazzercise records, Gray's intimate vocals and Smillie's turntablist sensibilities; 'Problem Drinking' sounds like the moment the house party starts to break.
Currently in the midst of a nationwide tour in support of the single's release, the duo will play The Wine Cellar in Auckland on March 1st and The Captain Cook in Dunedin on April 6th.
