Ahead of the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 this Sunday, four-time Verizon IndyCar Series Champion and Indianapolis 500 Winner Scott Dixon, Emma Dixon – his wife, and Owner of Chip Ganassi Racing - Chip Ganassi have announced the teaser trailer for a brand new documentary BORN RACER: THE SCOTT DIXON STORY. Co-produced by Universal Pictures Home Entertainment Content Group and GFC Films BORN RACER: THE SCOTT DIXON STORY is due to release in NZ cinemas in September.

A powerful and inspirational story of dedication, danger, fear, and the rare ‘will’ some of us have to defy all personal limitations.

It’s about desire for success and accomplishment and the search for ultimate meaning and purpose in life; a narrative on the unforgiving world of professional racing and the unique individuals who inhabit it. Filmed with an access all areas lens into the world of New Zealander Scott Dixon, a four-time Verizon IndyCar Series Champion and Indianapolis 500 Winner, the Chip Ganassi Racing team and all the people who are passionate about the world of motor racing, this film asks why some individuals feel compelled to court danger and uniquely risk their lives in order to win.

Scott Dixon commented: “Born Racer: The Scott Dixon Story is a big milestone for me personally so I couldn’t think of a better place to launch the teaser trailer than Indianapolis 500! It’s strange seeing yourself on the big screen but also rather exciting. I hope it will give people a real insight not only in to the cars and the drivers but the entire racing community and the huge amount of work that goes into making this all happen.”

BORN RACER: THE SCOTT DIXON STORY includes an action-packed, yet highly intimate & intense blend of close up observational filming plus never seen before spectacular, cutting-edge racing footage exploring exactly what it takes to compete in the world’s fastest and most challenging racing series.
