Three Wins the Night on Wednesday

The Block NZ Viewing Numbers up From This Time Last Year,


The Block NZ’s debut week for its seventh season hit stellar heights, reaching a 25.2% average audience share after the first four episodes, compared to 22.3% last year in the key 25-54 demographic. It’s an exciting start to the series which has seen the total overnight audience reach for the first week hit 1,090,900 in 5+, up 5.8% (59,900 viewers) year on year, and 596,400 in the key 25-54 demographic, up 11% (59,300 viewers) year on year.

Additionally, last night’s first room reveal episode reached a 25.3% share and 8.3 rating, which was followed by the Sunday movie Kingsman: The Secret Service (27.9% share, 6.0 rating). Tune into The Block NZ this week as our teams begin Bathroom Week, and find out what Amy and Stu’s safe holds.


Earlier in the week, New Zealand’s outrageously addictive local show Westside* continued to impress audiences, reaching a 23.4% share and 7.1 rating in 25-54 on Monday night. Wednesday night was also a stand-out for Three as it won the night with an overall share of 26.4% amongst 25-54s. Timeslot wins included Newshub Live at 6pm (33.9% share, 8.8 rating) as Conor Whitten reported live from Thailand after the successful rescue of the Wild Boars football team, The Block NZ (32.1% share, 8.6 rating) and Hawaii Five-O (15.5% share, 3.0 rating).

Other wins for the week include:

Tuesday: SVU (22.4% share, 4.4 rating),

Thursday: The Wolverine (23.0% share, 4.5 rating),

Friday: 7 Days* (21.5% share, 5.7 rating).


In radio, Jay and Emma got hitched in Napier after winning The Breeze Hawke’s Bay Underwater Wedding promotion. In the unique location of The National Aquarium of New Zealand, the local couple ‘took the plunge’ and said their ‘I do’s’ underwater dressed in wetsuits and oxygen tanks as it was live streamed on The Breeze Hawke’s Bay’s Facebook page. Finally, this Thursday Jono and Ben will be screening their 200th episode. The local comedy series hosted by Jono Pryor and Ben Boyce has become a regular Thursday night fixture with hilarious skits, banter and segments, so don’t miss this momentous milestone at 7.30pm on Three.
