Talented UK Comic Makes New Zealand Debut
Acclaimed UK stand-up and writer for the BBC Stephanie Laing makes her New Zealand debut with a brand new show about giving up. Stephanie has quit all her life, everything from ballet lessons and smoking to love and relationships. At once filthy and lovable, Laing’s darkly hilarious comedy explores what it means to be happy, how it feels to fail, and why she isn’t ready to quit her new polyamorous relationship. Delving into the corners of her oddball mind, Laing’s raw comedy examines her self-destructive drinking, self-harm and attempts to quit quitting. Laing’s brilliant comedic timing, song writing and unique outlook on the world is a hilarious and touching exercise in self-belief. Nuanced, beautifully written comedy from a rising star on the international comedy scene. This show is sure to appeal to anyone who has ever quit and everyone who has ever tried again.
Stephanie Laing is a UK comedian who has performed all over the world, and whose writing credits include BBC Radio 4. As well as appearing on Sky One, Stephanie was a finalist in the prestigious Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2015. After a successful Australian tour with last year’s show Mad About The Boy, Laing is taking this show to Australia, New Zealand, Canada and beyond.
