A new Hugo Grrl event series: Carnage Comedy Show

Come get wrecked with us at Carnage Comedy Show, a brand new event brought to you by Hugo Grrl’s Gigs, Wellington’s most illustrious drag and comedy event producers.

This new show will be held monthly (monthly!!!) in the plush event space upstairs at The Grand, and will feature some of New Zealand most troublesome and outlandish funny people.

The man behind the mustachioed Hugo character, George Fowler, says Carnage will give you the giggles, the snorts, and maybe even an embarrassing (for you) but funny (for others) case of the laugh farts.

“We’ve got some remarkable talent lined up, and with the monthly commitment, we can ensure we give Welly audiences great variety and spice.

“I feel like it took ages for comedy to be taken seriously as the art it is, and my goal is to get our cool performers some recognition - and importantly, money - for their art.

“Comedy is bloody hard work.”

Hugo Grrl is Wellington’s most loved drag king and the winner of TVNZ’s House of Drag. He’s also not short on comedy accolades, having won Best Producer, Best MC, and Outstanding Achievement at the Wellington Comedy Awards 2018.
