Wiretap 02

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

8K.nz your local, international and lovable radio station wishes to announce the release of:

WIRETAP 02
https://8knz.bandcamp.com/album/wiretap-02

The second release from local bootlegger Dave Branton, who has been diligently and selflessly attending local music events and creating an archive of live recordings unparalleled in the post-earthquake city of Christchurch.

Wiretap 02 is a compilation of live recordings made during 2018, of the underground and alternative music scene in Christchurch. It’s available on bandcamp, and as a limited physical release on cassette. The recordings were all broadcast on Wiretap (8k.nz) at some point during the last year, but have been given a bit of spit and polish by somebody that knows what they’re doing - so they a slight cut above the usual microphone-in-a-corner traditional bootleg sound.

The full track listing of the cassette version is:
Side 1
Adam Hattaway - To Write it (16th August 2018 - Space Academy)
Bill Direen and the Bilders - Wonders (12th October 2018 - The Darkroom)

Contact Rock - Flotation Chamber (13th October 2018 - DarkSpace)
Butterflies Welcoming Spring - Machine (11th August 2018 - Lyttelton Records)

Additionally, Jay Clarkson’s song Lovescarf is also available as a digital-only bonus track on the bandcamp release. This was recorded by Nigel Yates, at The Crown in Dunedin during August of 2018.

WIRETAP, broadcasting at 9pm NZT Tuesday evenings on http://8k.nz, is a fortnightly-ish show showcasing Dave Branton’s live recordings.
