Former Serepisos building transformed for student exhibition. IVIVI Building, Wellington
Artists make use of dormant space.
After a recent change in ownership, the first floor of the IVIVI building on Victoria Street will be put to use as an exhibition space for a 9-day exhibition starting on the 22nd October.
Frank Wong kindly donated a space on the first floor of the IVIVI building for a temporary exhibition, after hearing about a group of students’ search for space from Lee Cunningham at Bayleys Real Estate.
Massey Wellington photography students Hannah Brown Natalie Bunn, Stephanie Erb, Eva Gordon, Melissa Irving, Hilary Moloughney, Carly Sarten, and Erin Taylor will be exhibiting a broad range of works. Spectrum is the collaborative result of their individual fourth year Bachelor of Design (photography) research projects, which they have been working on since Feburary. These works are a culmination of the artists’ creative development over the time they have studied at Massey University.
The 8 students were delighted with the offer from Frank Wong to showcase their photography in the 1970s designed former World Trade Centre building at 173 Victoria Street.
