Variety Bash Coming to a Town near You; Seeking Grant Applications for Deserving Kiwi Kids

The Variety Bash is travelling through the Lower North Island in March 2012 and wants to help children in need along the way.

Variety - The Children's Charity is currently seeking applications from families and child-related organisations for funding to be considered for distribution during its 22nd annual Variety Bash. Application forms are available online at www.variety.org.nz.

From March 10-17 2012, the Variety Bash, a convoy of 25 quirky vehicles, will travel from Pukekohe, Te Kuiti via Otorohanga, Taumaranui, National Park, Hawera via Whangamomona, Wanganui Ohakune, Taihape, Fielding, Wellington, Castle Point, Hastings, Napier, and Taupo.

The Bash mission is to distribute grants to, and raise money for, Kiwi kids in need, as well as bring magic and fun to the schools and communities it visits.

"We urge families, schools and child welfare organisations from the areas we visit and surrounding districts, to get their grant applications to the Variety office before 31 December 2011, to be considered for presentation during the 2012 Bash", said Jodi Preston-Thomas, Bash Event Manager.

Applications are considered by Variety's Grants Committee and funds are granted to those projects the committee considers will make a tangible difference to improving the quality of life of sick, disabled and disadvantaged Kiwi kids aged up to 18 years.
