Growing Bulbs with Gold Medalist

27th March 2012

Growing Bulbs with Gold Medalist

Hoards of people turned up to enjoy a free gardening workshop on Saturday with Xanthe White, recent Gold medal winner at Ellerslie International Flower show. At the workshop, she taught enthusiastic gardeners how to plant bulbs. The crowd was delighted to have the opportunity to quiz Xanthe on her best tips and winning techniques and she happily obliged, imparting her sought after knowledge. The workshops, at Daltons purpose built School of gardening are held on the 4th weekend of every month and have built up a loyal following with many people attending every session.

Lizzie Conway, one of the attendees commented, “The workshops are such fun and it’s great to get the opportunity to learn from someone like Xanthe. I can’t believe we are all getting to go home with the bulbs we potted up. Daltons really have done a fantastic job in setting up the school”.

Next month’s workshop is being held on 28th April and will be learning about growing fruit.

Daltons School of gardening workshops are held at Daltons Landscape Supplies, 1 Morrin Road, Mount Wellington. For more info go to www.daltons.co.nz
