ASB Renews Support of ASB Polyfest

ASB has renewed its commitment as principal sponsor of ASB Polyfest with the signing of a further three year contract.

ASB Polyfest is the largest Maori and Pacific Island cultural festival in the world. It features 9,000 secondary school-aged participants from 65 schools across the Auckland region who celebrate the culture of our Maori, Pacific Island and Asian communities through song, dance and speech.

“ASB has a long history of supporting community events”, says Linley Wood, ASB’s Executive General Manager for Culture and Community.

“ASB Polyfest is an iconic annual four-day event that holds a special place in the heart of Aucklanders and ASB, and we have been supporting this unique celebration of our diverse community since 1984.”

Theresa Howard, ASB Polyfest Event Director, says “Over this time we have seen the festival grow to become the largest of its kind in the world. We are looking forward to continuing our partnership with ASB, celebrating our cultural heritage through the many passionate performances New Zealand’s talented young people bring to the festival each year.”

ASB Polyfest will take place from 13 to 16 March 2013 at Manukau Sports Bowl. The 2012 ASB Polyfest featured performances from nearly 200 different groups and attracted 95,000 spectators so we are looking to break new performance records this year.
