40th Ellerslie Classic Car Show – 100 Years of Cars

40th Ellerslie Classic Car Show – 100 Years of Cars

Over a hundred years of cars will be on show at Ellerslie Racecourse this Sunday Feb 10th celebrating the 40th annual Ellerslie Intermarque Concours and Classic Car Show.

It’s the country’s biggest car show and one the largest in the Southern hemisphere with some 800 cars worth millions of dollars being shown by 80 car clubs from around the country.

By contrast there will also be the latest and some of the most expensive prestige, performance and exotic cars from leading manufacturers.

Host Club Early Holden Club will feature around 90 early Holdens dating back to 1948.

Many club displays will reflect the show’s “40 years of fabulous” theme. And there’s a motorkhana that puts some of the “old girls” through their paces.

But the key attractions are likely to be the country’s best restorations – competing for the NZ Classic Car Magazine Intermarque Concours d’Elegance Awards.

Some have cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to be restored to “better than new” condition – with some rarities valued at millions of dollars on world markets, reflecting the international reputation of NZ’s restoration industry.

On Saturday, 180 classics will participate in the country’s largest “fun run” from destinations around Auckland to St Heliers.

Show time: 10 am – 4 pm Sunday Feb 10th
