Keep Manukau Beautiful in the first ever Graffiti Free Week!

Join the movement and do your bit to Keep Manukau Beautiful in the first ever Graffiti Free Week!

“Great things happen when communities work together,” says Barbara Carney of the Manukau Beautification Charitable Trust.

The Manukau Beautification Charitable Trust, The Rotary Club of Manukau City –Sunrise, Resene and Conservation Volunteers NZ are excited to be collaborating in the first nation-wide Keep New Zealand Beautiful Graffiti Free Week. This year’s Graffiti Free Week will be held from the 4th–11th November.

Many Kiwis will get involved in the inaugural Graffiti Free Week – a time when individuals, businesses, schools and groups get out into their communities and help to remove graffiti from their patch. Manukau locals are encouraged to come along and join forces to paint a large unsightly wall in a public car park on Eric Baker Place, Hunters Corner on Saturday 2nd November at 9am.

“Graffiti vandalism is a problem in our community,” says Barbara. “All are welcome to join us on Saturday and together we can bring the pride back in our neighbourhood.”

Groups and individuals can join an organised event in their area, or they can set up their own event and publicise it on the Keep New Zealand Beautiful website for others to get involved in.

For more details on how to get involved in Graffiti Free Week and a full list of registered events around the country visit www.knzb.org.nz or contact Barbara Carney on (09) 269 4080 or email barbara.carney@mbct.org.nz.
