Stamps marking Royal tour on sale in stores today

Two special stamps to commemorate the visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge will be available in PostShop stores and REAL Aotearoa stores from today.

The stamps depict a family portrait taken at the Middleton family home and the official portrait from Prince George’s christening.

A limited edition commemorative coin showing the young couple against the backdrop of Government House in Wellington is also on sale from next week at selected PostShop stores but has sold out online, New Zealand Post Head of Stamps and Coins Simon Allison said.

The stamps and coin have been available since 3 March by pre-order on New Zealand Post’s website, at nzpost.co.nz/stamps.

New Zealand Post chief executive Brian Roche will present a framed set of stamps and a coin in an engraved kauri wooden box to the Duke of Cambridge at Government House in Wellington on Thursday 10 April.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has personally approved the images for use on the stamps and coin.

New Zealand Post is authorised by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand as the only official issuer of legal tender New Zealand commemorative coins.
