Mondiale Aces welcome back Blackcaps

Mondiale Aces welcome back Blackcaps for Georgie Pie Super Smash

Friday, 31 October 2014

The Mondiale Auckland Aces will have their four Blackcaps players to call on when they commence their Georgie Pie Super Smash campaign tomorrow night in Hamilton.

The Mondiale Aces take on the Otago Volts in the 7pm game at Seddon Park and will have the services of Blackcaps Martin Guptill, Mitchell McClenaghan, Kyle Mills and Colin Munro.

The first three have been involved with the recent series against South Africa whilst Munro was a big part of the Mondiale Aces first up win over the Knights in the first round of the Plunket Shield.

The attention now quickly switches to Twenty20 and the change of mindset that comes with it. Coach Mark O’Donnell is confident that his side have successfully made that mental transition and are ready to hit the ground running at the weekend.

“Switching between the formats is really not a big deal now, all the guys are used to doing that on a regular basis. I think we’ve got a very well balanced side and we’ve got a batting line-up that is capable of doing some real damage.”

A team for the game that starts at 7pm tomorrow night, 1 November, at Seddon Park, will be named from the following 13 players:

Rob Nicol (Captain) (Cornwall)
Michael Bates (Suburbs New Lynn)
Brad Cachopa (Takapuna)
Carl Cachopa (Takapuna)
Colin de Grandhomme (Howick Pakuranga)
Donovan Grobbelaar (Howick Pakuranga)
Martin Guptill (Suburbs New Lynn)
Anaru Kitchen (Waitakere)
Mitchell McClenaghan (Howick Pakuranga)
Kyle Mills (Howick Pakuranga)
Colin Munro (Howick Pakuranga)
Tarun Nethula (Cornwall)
Matt Quinn (Cornwall)
