BTW Announces NZ Title

BTW Promoter, Benjamin Watt has announced his main event at his boxing event on September 24th. Tongan born New Zealander Nailini Helu, will be fighting for the NZPBA Womens Heavyweight title against Ange Davis.

Nailini Helu who is current 2 - 0 has held three New Zealand Amateur titles and the Inaugural Royal Rampage World title. Helu is the older sister to professional boxer Panuve Helu. Her opponent, Ange Davis has had 10 Kickboxing bouts and has held the TBANZ Women’s middleweight title, however this will be her pro debut in boxing.

A big undercard will be supporting the main event with boxing bouts featuring 1995 New Zealand Junior Amateur champion Zane McNab, Undefeated boxer Craig Thomson and Undefeated boxer Kendall Cooper.

The pro undercard will also feature Cheyenne Whaanga Beazley going against Sarag Long. Beazley is being trained by New Zealand’s most successful female Boxer, the first IBF World female Champion, Daniella Smith. Beazley has also won the New Zealand Amateur title in 2012. Beazley opponent, Sarah Long is being trained by Terry Tuteru, who also is training Ange Davis in the main event. Long made her Pro debut in boxing against Nailini Helu in June, however came up short by a UD loss.

This fight night is a Charity event, raising money for the Mika Haka Foundation.
The Mika Haka Foundation (MHF) is a charitable trust formed to deliver the inclusive vision of successful Maori artist and entertainer, Mika, of an extraordinary future for all young New Zealanders – in particular, young people from diverse backgrounds and marginalized communities.

The purpose of MHF Charitable Trust is to support and encourage, in various ways, the development and discussion of, and public interaction with, different aspects of native cultures. Their work is designed for the benefit of the native cultures and the wider community and address various issues of benefit to native cultures and the wider community.

A member of the Mt Roskill community will be stepping into the ring for the first time to fight for MHF. Kalopeau Janes-Bell who is training out of Pridelands boxing, will be fight against PARS Academy’s Jimmy Lee, who is also making their Corporate debut.

The event itself will be featuring twenty corporate fighters (ten bouts) fighting from all over Auckland, all of them wanting to fight for charity.
