Dreamy big eyed dolls to be showcased at the NZ Art Show 2017

Wellington pop surrealist artist Autumn McGrail has beed selected to be part of this years NZ Art Show at Wellington’s TSB Arena from June 2-5 2017

This is her ninth year exhibiting, her first was when she was fresh out of art school, the show has helped her career immensely and she says it gives artists an amazing opportunity to sell and get their art out there.

Her signature stylised, big eyed, doll-like figures are a mixture of darkness and cuteness sometimes with obscure symbolic meaning with a semi surreal narrative. She works mostly in oils.

Autumn’s passion for art has been with her as long as she can remember. She studied fine arts after leaving secondary school and then began her professional career, exhibiting works around the country. Her work has been sold to collectors around the world.

She is influenced by both classical European art as well as contemporary pop culture.
