Netball New Zealand and Muffin Break to Focus on Next Generation Netballers

Netball New Zealand and Muffin Break New Zealand are proud to announce a strategic partnership to help deliver Netball’s new Year 7 & 8 Player Development Programme.

The Muffin Break Year 7 & 8 Player Development Programme is an accelerated learning programme providing players the chance develop and extend their technical, tactical and development skills as well as inspiring a lifelong love of the game.

The Year 7 & 8 Player Development Programme has been developed to replace the representative programme that was previously offered, encouraging a broader talent pool and will include tournament play as part of the programme.

Netball New Zealand Chief Executive Jennie Wyllie said they were excited to have Muffin Break join the Player Development Programme aimed at the next generation of Netballers.

“The development of our future players is such an important focus for us and we are pleased to have Muffin Break join the team to help take this programme around the country,” she said.

Foodco NZ Ltd General Manager Jon Hassall said Muffin Break was looking forward to working with Netball New Zealand with the goal of helping young people to develop a life-long love of the sport.

“We know how important it is for young people to participate and be active in sport and the role that plays in such an important development time of their lives,” he said.

“Muffin Break is excited to be partnering with Netball New Zealand and look forward to engaging with the wider netball community with this exciting new programme.”

With 38 Cafés nationwide Muffin Break is located in a wide range of diverse local communities from Auckland’s North Shore to Dunedin.

“We appreciate that every location is unique as are their local Netball Centres specific resource needs and requirements. We hope that this partnership assists in building relationships between Netball Centres and their local Muffin Break, opening up various sponsorship opportunities to help the next generation of Netballers achieve their goals.”
