Skycity announced as official partner for Mr Gay NZ 2018

As the finale of Mr Gay New Zealand beckons this weekend, SKYCITY Auckland has been announced as Official Partner for 2018.

SKYCITY Grand Hotel and SKYCITY Auckland Convention Centre will host all of the Mr Gay New Zealand finalists across the weekend as well as provide facilities for the challenges in which the group will compete before the winner is announced on Sunday at the Ending HIV Big Gay Out.

Producer of Mr Gay New Zealand and Former winner Matt Fistonich said the support is vital to being able to prepare finalists appropriately for the finale and also whoever wins and goes on to Mr Gay World in South Africa in May.

“Mr Gay New Zealand has now set the benchmark across the world for the way to run country competitions and in this our 10th year we wanted to raise the bar and lift the experience for all of our finalists,” Mr Fistonich said.

“The amazing support by SKYCITY will see this competition grow again and help to produce another outstanding representative for our country in 2018.”

As a Rainbow Tick accredited organisation, General Manager Hotels and Tower Brad Burnett said SKYCITY was very happy to further its support of the Rainbow community with the sponsorship.

“We are thrilled to partner with Mr Gay New Zealand in the 10th year of this world-class competition and to help the winner prepare to represent New Zealand at the Mr Gay World event later in May,” Mr Burnett said.

Mr Gay New Zealand will be a feature in the Ending HIV Big Gay Out event in Auckland on Sunday with the ‘in person’ challenges of the event such as the one on one interviews, written test, photoshoot challenge and the mentoring workshop to be held within SKYCITY.

Mr Gay New Zealand Public Voting continues until 5pm on Sunday 11 February just before the winner is announced on stage at the Ending HIV Big Gay Out.
