Upper Hutt, Are You Old Enough for Mark Williams

Upper Hutt, Are You Old Enough for Mark Williams

When a New Zealand client wanted to engage legendary New Zealand artist, Mark Williams and the Rodger Fox Big Band, Rodger immediately thought who else would love to hear the international recording artist.

Mark is on a tight schedule from Australia but Rodger has booked him into the Upper Hutt Cossie Club on Thursday, May 10 at 8pm and The Grand Hotel, Wellington, on Friday, May 11 at 8pm.

Mark sang with Rodger a couple of years ago and the impact was so outstanding the Jazz Festival audience at the time wanted to hear them again.

Mark Williams is a New Zealand born pop/soul singer with Recording Industry Association of New Zealand (RIANZ) number one hit singles Yesterday Was Just the Beginning of My Life, Buddy Holly’s It Doesn’t Matter Anymore and Are You Old Enough.

When he relocated to Australia his single Show No Mercy was a top 10 hit in both countries.

Mark has toured extensively as solo artist and with numerous Australian bands and, in 2005, became the vocalist for the re-formed New Zealand/Australian band, Dragon.

At The Grand and the Upper Hutt Cossie Club, Mark will sing all his hits including his latest, April Sun In Cuba, in a new big band arrangement.

Guest artist will be iconic jazz, blues and soul artist, Erna Ferry, who’ll perform her versions of Sharon O’Neill Maxine, Dave Dobbin’s Slice Of Heaven and updated big band versions of Dorothy Moore’s stellar hit Misty Blue and Tracy Chapman’s Give Me One Reason along with her electrifying classic soul, rock and blues repertoire.
