The 2018 Unitec Shakespeare Season

Unitec Creative Industries presents… The 2018 Unitec Shakespeare Season

The famous storm that opens Shakespeare’s play The Tempest has been conjured by Prospera whose enemies are on board the vessel caught in the wind and tumultuous seas. In Love’s Labour’s Lost four men pledge to deny themselves the company of women only to be undone by love’s intoxication. Tempests of the heart and of the elements are powerfully present in these two plays which make up the 2018 Shakespeare season at Unitec Creative Industries. Paul Gittins will direct The Tempest and Rita Stone Love’s Labour’s Lost. The students performing the works are in their third and final year of study and the design of costume, set and lighting/sound is also done by third year production students. A highlight in the Unitec calendar sees Shakespeare performed with industry based directors, high standards of production and the passion and newly acquired skills of passionate young actors.
