Three Announces Upcoming Lineup Including Gogglebox NZ And the Rookie

A stellar lineup is ahead for Three, with favourite local and international shows returning including the highly anticipated second season of Married At First Sight New Zealand, along with shiny new additions to the schedule - Gogglebox NZ and international premium crime drama The Rookie.

“Gogglebox NZ is a fantastic new addition to the Three schedule. We've been working on producing a local version for quite some time now, so the realisation of that is exciting for all involved,” says MediaWorks Chief Content Officer Andrew Szusterman.

“The Rookie was one of the stand-out pilots from the latest LA Screenings, so adding that to our slate of returning favourites completes an amazing lineup for the second half of 2018 on Three.”

GOGGLEBOX NZ

The BAFTA award-winning international format Gogglebox is getting a local makeover, with Gogglebox NZ coming to Three later this year.

Ever wonder what other people are saying about your favourite show? Are they voicing exactly what you’ve been thinking, or does their view shed a refreshing new light on popular culture? Sit tight, because all of your questions will soon be answered.

Once a week, the spotlight will be on 10 ordinary Kiwi households, as cameras capture their reactions while they watch entertainment television from the previous week across different networks.

Laugh, cringe and cry with them, all while gaining a unique insight into other people’s viewing rituals. It’s not only a show about TV, but also a reflection on culture and living room life in New Zealand.

The series will be narrated by Sharyn Casey, host of The Edge’s drive show and Dancing With The Stars NZ.

“I am obsessed with watching TV, to the point that I plan my life around my viewing habits! Gogglebox is a 'see it to believe it' show and you’ll fast be addicted to this surprising international phenomenon. Strap yourself in for a roller coaster ride of emotions with our amazing families!” says Sharyn.

Gogglebox is based on an original format created by Studio Lambert - an all3media company.
Gogglebox NZ will be produced by Satellite Media and Motion Content Group for Three.

THE ROOKIE

A brand new premium drama coming to Three later this year, The Rookie is based on a gripping true story about a small-town American, John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) who, after a life-altering incident, is pursuing his dream of being a police officer.

As the force’s oldest rookie, he’s met with skepticism from some higher-ups who see him as no more than a walking midlife crisis. If he can’t keep up with the young cops and the criminals, he’ll be risking lives including his own. But if he can use his life experience, determination and sense of humour to give him an edge, he may just become a success in this new chapter of his life.
