Alison Annan Acknowledges Community Support

Alison Annan Acknowledges Cambridge Community Support

Cambridge - Alison Annan today said that she would like to thank the students and staff of Cambridge High School, as well as the local community, for their overwhelming support for her.

Since Friday 13 August Mrs Annan has received an enormous and spontaneous outpouring of good will and wishes for her return to the school from students, staff and the local Cambridge community. Support for her has included a public march by the majority of the students, as well as countless phone calls, messages and cards asking her to continue as principal of Cambridge High.

"I am humbled by the love and support that the Cambridge community has shown me, and I appreciate their calls for me to continue as principal of the school," Mrs Annan said.

Mrs Annan also said that she was immensely proud of Cambridge High and what its students and staff had achieved in the years she had led the school.

"Cambridge High School is my life - the students and the school mean everything to me.

"The school has been my heart and soul for the last 12 years, and I cannot imagine what my life would be like not being the principal. I cannot contemplate not having a continuing future with the school, its students and families," says Mrs Annan.

Mrs Annan said there was still confusion as to her position because as far as she was concerned she had not resigned as principal of Cambridge High School.

"I have spoken with my lawyers, and the legal process is now underway. My future as principal of the school is now in the hands of others. I am not in a position to make any further comment on that aspect".

Mrs Annan and her family will attend a public meeting in Cambridge this evening which has been organized by the local community to celebrate her leadership and achievements at the school.
