im/perfection opens at the George Fraser Gallery

Elam students find innovative approaches to photography within the context of today’s image saturated environment. Their concerns press at the boundaries of photography and critique the often assumed and much debated “perfection” of the photographic reproduction.

Senior lecturer Megan Jenkinson says: “im/perfection presents the variety of approaches to photography that the students have been developing. The show explores traditional concerns such as landscape, portraiture and photo-montage, to more contemporary practices focusing on manipulation and collage within the digital and physical realms.”

The George Fraser Gallery is delighted to present im/perfection as part of the Auckland Festival of Photography.
Located in the grounds of Albert Park in Auckland’s city centre, the George Fraser Gallery is the public exhibiting space of Elam School of Fine Arts.
