Harold The Giraffe Is Coming To Town!

The National Bank and Life Education Trust have joined forces to help Kiwi kids achieve their full potential by encouraging them to learn more about how to manage their money.

The National Bank will donate $5 to the Life Education Trust for any savings account opened for customers aged 18 and under between 20 September and 17 October 2010.

Money raised will go directly back into the Wellington Life Education Trust, helping the Trust fund much needed resources to support educational programmes for local children.

Children who open savings accounts during the campaign will also receive a unique Harold the Giraffe moneybox to help them with their savings goals.

Harold the Giraffe will be making a special visit to The National Bank’s Courtney Place Branch on Friday 8 October between 10.30 – 12pm. Harold will highlight The National Bank savings campaign and get up close and personal with his fans. Harold would love lots of children to come and visit him!

Life Education Trust, with their well known and loved mascot Harold the Giraffe, is a not-for-profit organisation that delivers specially designed learning modules to kiwi kids, teaching and encouraging them to appreciate life and to reach their full potential. Life Education Trust has been operating in New Zealand for 22 years, and delivers its important educational programmes through 37 regional Trusts located around New Zealand.

The National Bank is a key sponsor of the Life Education Trust, and as well as supporting the Trust with special campaigns and events during the year, they also produce fun and informative financial literacy educational packages for children. The financial modules are delivered to schools across the country by the Life Education Trust.

Last year alone, the Life Education Trust reached 220,000 children across New Zealand, visiting them in schools with Harold the Giraffe and their special mobile classroom.
