No Strings Attached, star jams with students, noon 23 May

No Strings Attached, star jams with students, noon today.

Tasmin Little (UK) does music outreach events all around the world, she calls them “No Strings Attached”. She is visiting Whitireia New Zealand this Monday 23 May, noon until 1pm. She has invited our music students (rock and jazz fans mostly) to bring acoustic instruments and jam with her.

Tasmin is a guest of Chamber Music New Zealand. She will be playing one of her two violins which are priceless items of historical worth both made in the 1700s!

Dan Adams,Whitireia New Zealand Music Programme Manager, says “we’re always looking for inspiring experiences for our two hundred Music, Live Sound and DJ students. They come from diverse communities all over New Zealand, and yet what brings them together is their keen shared interest in every kind of music. For some this will be their very first exposure to Classical music, which is really exciting.”

Tasmin offers a free download of an album called “The Naked Violin” atwww.tasminlittle.com/free_cd

Tasmin Little, Whitiriea Atrium, noon - 1pm, Entry 1, Wineera Drive, Porirua.
