CPIT welcomes quake rebuild support

CPIT welcomes quake rebuild support

CPIT welcomes the Tertiary Education, Skills and Employment Minister Steven Joyce’s announcement today that the Crown has agreed in principle that they will provide capital support towards CPIT’s expansion of trades training facilities.

This will complement CPIT’s own capital works programme to upgrade all CPIT’s facilities to a twenty first century learning environment.

CPIT also appreciates the government’s continuing support in terms of maintaining our operational funding since the earthquakes, CPIT Council Chair Jenn Bestwick says.

“We look forward to submitting a more detailed business case so CPIT can continue to respond to the needs of the region and contribute to increasing Canterbury’s trades training capacity.

“We have worked hard over the last few years to increase our trades training programmes to meet the demand for a skilled workforce,” she said.
