New Mā te Reo 2013 Funding Round to Open in July

Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori announces a new Mā te Reo funding round will open on 1 July 2013.

Mā te Reo is a community based funding programme established in 2001 to support projects, programmes and activites that contribute to local level Māori language regeneration.

The fund distributes $1.8 million annually in the form of conditional grants to iwi, hapū, whānau, Māori organisations and individuals.

The 2013 will open on Monday 1 July 2013, and closes Friday 9 August 2013 at 5pm.

Applications to the fund can be made online. While we encourage applicants to apply on-line, you can also submit an application in hard-copy.

"I’m glad we are opening this round as Te Wiki o te Reo Māori begins, as Mā te Reo projects represent Māori language revitalisation at its best,“ says Glenis Philip-Barbara, Chief Executive of Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori.

"We’re always pleased with the breadth of project ideas that our providers submit.“
