U-Skills students celebrate success

U-Skills students celebrate success

Over 200 secondary school students are eligible to walk across the Regent Theatre stage as U-Skills graduates on Thursday night, in a ceremony to celebrate completing their programme.

This year’s students will graduate from one of 17 different programmes that include subjects as diverse as health, automotive engineering, hairdressing and graphic design, gaining qualifications and experience to assist them on a career pathway.

Students come from as far afield as Waiouru in the north to Otaki in the south, and from Whanganui across to Wairarapa.

Three major awards will be made to students who have also achieved a high level of achievement and leadership, dedication and improvement.

In its third year, the Government trade academy - U-Skills Central School Academy - allows secondary school age students to be enrolled at both their secondary school and a tertiary training provider.

The Graduation ceremony will take place at the Regent on Broadway from 6.30pm on Thursday 30 October.
