Memorandum of Understanding Signed with Indonesian Partner

The Southern Institute of Technology is delighted to announce the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between SIT and LP3i Polytechnic in Indonesia that was undertaken this afternoon. LP3i have 26 Campuses in Indonesia and have 10,000 graduates per year in Business Administration, IT and Accounting.

The delegation party consisted of Mr. Syahrial Yusuf and Mrs. Sri Martani LP3i – Founders and Owners, Mr. Isral Nurdin, LP3i – Vice President, Mr. Nur Haris Effendi, LP3i – Academic Director, Mr. Dedi, CEO STMIK Bina Sarana Global (an institute under LP3i Management), Mr. Mahendra Baroto, ALFALINK – Indonesian Education Agent, Mr. Bill Russell and Mr. Paul Bryant ENI – NZ Agent that brought the two parties together.

The Southern Institute of Technology was represented by SIT Deputy CE Academic Maree Howden and SIT Deputy CE Corporate Bharat Guha. Other distinguished guests included the Ambassador of Indonesia His Excellency Jose Tavares, Madam Tavares, Invercargill City Deputy Mayor Darren Ludlow and members of the Southland Business Community as well as senior management, staff and students of SIT.

SIT Deputy CE Corporate Bharat Guha states “SIT is extremely privileged to be given the opportunity to partner with LP3i Polytechnic in Indonesia. We are looking forward to stair casing LP3i Diploma Graduates into SIT Business programmes in Invercargill. As part of this relationship his worship the Mayor of Invercargill Tim Shadbolt and I will be travelling to Indonesia on 16 November to officially launch the memorandum at LP3i’s 4 main campuses.”

Ambassador of Indonesia HE Jose Tavares states “Indonesia has more than 1000 tertiary institutions. However we need to develop a higher quality of education. New Zealand has strong vocational training that prepares students for work. SIT is one of the best which is why we chose to partner with them.”

Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills and Employment, Honourable Steven Joyce in a congratulatory message to SIT Chief Executive, states “New Zealand’s vocational education and training system is world renowned and I am pleased that a New Zealand education provider is supporting Indonesia’s development of a highly skilled workforce through this agreement. SIT and the Southern region will provide a comprehensive and welcoming experience for international students.”
