Playcentre awards life membership

MEDIA RELEASE

Playcentre awards life membership

At its recent annual general meeting, the Hutt Playcentre Association awarded a life membership to two of its members, Faith Tupou and Susan Bailey.

“It's a pretty amazing acknowledgment of all the effort I've put into Playcentre over the years. The benefits to me and my family will be lifelong and far outweigh any amount of work I've done,” said the former Hutt Playcentre Association Co-President, Susan Bailey.

“My vision is that I will be able to take my Grandchildren to Playcentre.”

The award is an honour bestowed on members who have dedicated years of volunteer work to the Playcentre organisation at the local, regional and national level.

Hutt Playcentre Co-President, Clare Ferguson said, “Susan and Faith have given an enormous amount of their time and aroha to Playcentre in the Hutt. They have been involved with children at Centres, regional governance and right through to the national organisation, helping to guide children’s learning and the strategic direction of Playcentre regionally and nationally.

It is people like Susan and Faith that are the kaumatua of the Playcentre organisation, they bring their wisdom, and most importantly their passion for parents providing quality early childhood education for tamariki.”
