Victoria Avenue School, Remuera to Celebrate 4th Gala

Victoria Avenue School, Remuera to Celebrate 4th Gala.

22 March, 2015
10am-3pm

Victoria Avenue School in Remuera is set to celebrate their 4th biennial school gala, on 22 March 2015. Running from 10am to 3pm in the school grounds on Remuera’s lovely Victoria Avenue, the offerings are set to rival anything else on offer for the weekend.

With two 20 foot containers filled with White Elephant goods, six classrooms stacked with books, toys and clothes, there is certainly a bargain for everyone. 2015 breaks a school record with 50 stalls, including a surefire kids’ favourite - Sweet Street. Candy floss, shaved ice, cupcakes, whole cakes, slices, sweets, milkshakes and ice-cream will provide the sugary fuel needed for the kids to try one of 18 games on offer, including the newest and sure to be most talked about game for the day, Tog Pong. Pitting Tog Pong for the hottest game is the Scissor Lift, where you can take a bird’s eye view of the gala from 4 metres up. Whilst you’re up there, have a look at your friends (or mum and dad!) taking on the Vicky Ave Ninja Warrior - another new game putting your obstacle skills to the test.

The old favourites are back though, and mum and dad will be able to re-live their youth at the Coconut Shy and a new take on the old Gumboot Throw - Boot the Bog. Once the sugar rush is over, take the family to the Wok, BBQ or the Fish & Chip shop for a real tummy filler, and finish the day with a quiet drink near the stage, whilst you wait to hear if you’ve won the latest quick fire raffle, and the kids have a fly down the hill on the waterslide. Don’t forget you can even do the week’s vegie shopping at the produce market!

As a decile 10 school our fundraising target for the year is huge, and we need to raise over $70,000 in the 5 hours of the gala, so head on over for a fantastic day set to suit bargain hunters, families, foodies and competitive athletes! Bring your togs!
