Mid-Winter Special on AFS Student Exchanges

Mid-Winter Special on AFS Student Exchanges

Wellington August 5th 2015 AFS are encouraging young people aged 15 to 18, who are considering doing a student exchange, to take advantage of their mid-winter discount offer for travel in 2016.

AFS is keen to let young people interested in doing student exchanges know that the mid-winter discount takes $950 off year and $450 off half year programmes.

“This mid-winter discount is just another incentive for students, knowing you’re that much closer to going on an exchange really encourages keen students,” says Diana Rennie, AFS Programme Manager.

“We know young people are great at raising money for their exchanges. We have students who work and fundraise the entire amount themselves. It’s just a matter of working hard and not being tempted by the latest iPhone or sale. Hopefully the discount will just be an added incentive to keep going, or get going!”

In a world where people are travelling and working on a more international level, it’s important for young people to understand other cultures. Having an AFS exchange on a person’s CV provides a definite advantage.

“Appreciating and valuing other cultures is vital in today’s world and we hope this mid-winter special will appeal to students who are thinking about the idea of an exchange, but haven’t got moving yet. With around a thousand dollars off year programmes, it’s worth getting moving sooner, rather than later.”

But with less than two weeks remaining on the offer, interested students need to get moving.

If you’re interested in finding out more about the mid-winter discount, call Hedi at AFS on 0800 600 300 or text 022 639 0560 to find out more information about how to apply, or check out the website www.afsnz.org.
