2016 Education Awards

2016 Education Awards

The 2016 Education Awards will celebrate the quality and diversity of educational resources released in the past year by New Zealand companies to support classroom learning. The awards celebrate the success of New Zealand resource providers in the education market and recognise standout contributions both in New Zealand classrooms and overseas.

A panel of industry experts will judge the entries, which will include online tools, apps, textbooks, workbooks and more, to carefully consider this year’s award winners in five separate categories.

Submissions open this year on 25 July and close on 31 August.

The 2016 categories will be

• Best Resource in Primary

• Best Resource in Secondary

• Best Resource in Te Reo Māori

• Best Resource in Higher Education

• Best Resource for Export

Paula Browning, CEO of CLNZ says: “We’re very proud of the work New Zealand resource developers are doing in education. The Education Awards have a strong tradition of recognising those that are doing something new and responsive to meet the needs of students and teachers.”

For the second year running, the awards will also feature Teachers’ Choice winners in the categories of best resources in primary education, secondary education and Te Reo Māori. Paula Browning says, “The Teachers’ Choice awards use the hands-on experience of classroom teachers to recognise the new resources that teachers themselves find most helpful in their teaching practice. We want as many teachers as possible to have their say and vote.” Teachers’ Choice voting will available online from 14 September.

2016 application criteria and entry forms, as well as a list of last year’s winners, are available from the CLNZ website at http://www.copyright.co.nz/Awards/
