SDNZ Partners With Smokefree To Spread Positive Message

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Thursday 23rd February 2017

SDNZ PARTNERS WITH SMOKEFREE TO SPREAD POSITIVE MESSAGE

Street Dance New Zealand (SDNZ) has partnered with Smokefree to inspire the community to live smokefree lives through some of New Zealand's top talent taking free community workshops around the country.

SDNZ is using this partnership as an opportunity to remind the dance community that dance has always been a part of our culture, smoking hasn’t and it's up to us to all of us to make Aotearoa's goal to be smokefree by 2025 a reality.

Street Dance NZ and all of their events are proudly smokefree. SDNZ celebrated 10 years of cultivating Aotearoa’s grass roots dance talent and showcasing it on the world stage last year.

SDNZ over the next 2 months will be running regional qualifying competitions around New Zealand. The finalists from the regions will come to battle it out at the national finals for their place to compete in Phoenix Arizona in August at the World Hip Hop Championships up against 64 countries and 3,500 dancers from all corners of the globe.

The Street Dance NZ National Championships competition includes 7 events over 5 days. Last year over 50 crews entered and over 1,000 dancers went head to head, all vying for an opportunity to represent their country with ID Company 'The Bradas' bringing home another gold medal.

Get along to your local free Smokefree community workshop.
