UC hosts 25th ANZAM conference in Wellington

University of Canterbury hosts 25th ANZAM conference in Wellington

University of Canterbury Vice-Chancellor, Dr Rod Carr will open the 25th Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management (ANZAM) conference at the Amora Hotel in Wellington tomorrow. The conference runs from 7-9 December and is being hosted by the University of Canterbury with support from Victoria University of Wellington and Massey University.

The first day of the conference will feature a panel discussion on the conference theme 'The Future of Work and Organisations'. The panel will feature Mr Hugh Fletcher, former CEO of Fletcher Challenge and former Chancellor of the University of Auckland; Dr Rod Carr; and Dr Darl Kolb, Associate Professor of Management and International Business from the University of Auckland Business School.

The second day will feature keynote speakers Professor Loizos Heracleous, Professor of Strategy and Organisation at Warwick Business School, United Kingdom; and Professor Sir Paul Callaghan, founding Director of the MacDiarmid Institute for Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology at Victoria University and Alan MacDiarmid Professor of Physical Sciences. Participants will also take part in a wide range of stream sessions and workshops.

On the third day the 25th anniversary of ANZAM will be celebrated with the ANZAM Anniversary Presidents' Discussion Panel - 'Reflections and Future Prospects for Management Education in Australia and New Zealand' where four past ANZAM presidents reflect on its 25 year history and Australasian focus.

A two-day ANZAM Doctoral Workshop was held prior to the conference on 5-6 December 2011 at Massey University's Wellington Campus. The workshop offered opportunities for professional development, social interchange and networking with PhD fellows, students and academics from Australasia and all over the world.
