New Ambassadors of South Auckland Middle School

Keven and Tai Mealamu - Ambassadors of South Auckland Middle School

Auckland, February 28, 2014 - The Villa Education Trust is delighted to announce Keven and Tai Mealamu as ambassadors for South Auckland Middle School. Their aim is to be a part of promoting the school and supporting the well-being of the children.

This new partnership was celebrated with a visit by Keven & Tai, much to the delight and excitement of the students at the South Auckland Middle School.

The new school at 198 Mahia Rd, Manurewa, has made a flying start with 108 students. The initial roll was set at 90, though the school is quickly moving towards its current capacity of 120. The children are adapting quickly to the 15:1 class sizes, independent learning opportunities, and activity-based afternoons. The involvement of the Auckland Rugby Union, Wynton Rufer’s coaches, Rick Wells and the Hilton Brown team has got the afternoon programme moving quickly - along with the ARtm Music and Community Learning afternoon options.

South Auckland Middle School, run by the Villa Education Trust, is one of New Zealand’s first Partnership Schools that was officially opened by the Right Honourable John Key on January 31, 2014. The school provides a highly regarded integrated, project-based curriculum that adheres to the New Zealand Curriculum, and is expertly taught by registered and qualified teachers.
